“I’m so glad we live in a world where there are Octobers.” – Anne of Green Gables

Don’t know about you, but I looked up and it was October. This year has flown by. Between working in the garden, a busy speaking/travel schedule, my corporate job, (yes, I still have a full time job) the year; at times, just seems like a blur and I am grateful for a few quiet (and cooler) moments in the garden.

A busy year for Rednecks who love roses!

We spent the weekend cleaning up garden beds and doing a little prep for the winter months to come. Below are a few rose care tips for October:

October Rose Care Tips

After a very long hot summer, I, like Anne of Green Gables am glad that October has arrived. The heat and humidity of summer has finally subsided and our after our August cut back of roses, we are beginning to see a fall flush of blooms. Our fall blooms are among the best of the year. The colors intensify against a green background before fading into the colors of autumn.  Here are just a few of our October blooms:

‘Pope John Paul II’

‘Neil Diamond’

‘Goldstruck

I hope your October is filled with all kinds of good things and that you take a few moments to soak in the final blooms of the year.
